Zach welcomes actor, voice artist, and film critic Matthew Merback (The Bipolar Critic) to have a jolly holiday through the wonderful world of Disney as they dive way too deep into the 1964 classic, ‘Mary Poppins’.
Join them outside the steps of Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane, where they will discover more about the origins of the film adaptation, analyze the contention between Walt and P.L. Travers, gush over the practically perfect casting, revel in the stunning animation by Disney legends, point out where the innovations of Mary Poppins find themselves in the works of today and have an honest but heartfelt discussion about what the Disney legacy meant then and what it does to this very minute, both good and not so good.
The podcast pals also manage to get themselves stuck on the ceiling from laughing too much over a series of asides filled with the voices of folks like Sean Connery, Bert the Chimney Sweep, Alfred Hitchcock, James Mason, and… Walt Disney (?).
