Ep. 47: The Marx Brothers at Paramount (Seal Not Included)

This week, on a very special GIGANTIC SIZED episode of the Ballyhoo that may go on for years, Zach is joined by return guests Tyler and “Andrew” (Pop Culture Brews) to shoot elephants in the Ballyhoo’s pajamas… how they got in our pajamas, we dont know.

That’s right folks, the topic of the day will be THE MARX BROTHERS as the boys dive deep into their first Five Films with Paramount Pictures.

Settle in for the long haul that may go on for years as they find amazement in the origins of cinemas legend comedy foursome, giggle in delight at their favorite jokes, dispel a few myths and rumors about the team and the films, reckon with outdated material and how to process it when watching comedy of the past, and hold a spotlight onto the many tangible and emotional ways the Marx Brothers have left their imprint on cinema and comedy at large.

And while the boys cannot top the lines from any of the brothers, they do find hilarity at the convenience of the brothers names, get baffled by the lyrics of Monkey Doodle Do, and so much more.

PLUS: We make the case for one Herbert “Zeppo” Marx.
